What Are Some Of the Things Musician Can Do With Computers?

Musician of all sorts use computers daily, in all sorts of ways.

A student learning his or her first notes of music and the names of the lines and spaces can benefit from the fun and effective ways computers can teach music.

Composers for symphony orchestras use score notation software to print scores for the orchestral musician who'll perform the compositions.

Every recording session for album, film, radio, and tv uses computers to assist with the recording and mixing of the project. The entire film and video industry uses an industry-standard data stripe called SMTPE time code to synchronize the music and sound with the moving pictures. Computers "read" this time code and ensure that sound properly match the action in the finished project. SMPTE is acronyms of Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. This is an organization that determines all the standard protocols for data commucinations in the television and motion industry.

Many musicians "record" their performances onto MIDI sequencing software, which then "plays" their synthesizer sounds for them.

Some people use computers and musics as their main hobby, composing simple songs and printing sheet music for use with their friends, church choirs, youth groups, and service organizations.

Progressive live performers incorporate computer-generated or computer-controlled music into their concert performances, sometimes intergrated with multimedia presentations.

MIDI is an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. This system invented by a consortium of music instrument manufacturers in early 1980, uses computer data to communicate betweetn electronic music instruments.
